The NWMPC is one of the oldest Gold Mining & Prospecting Clubs in Oregon & Washington, with Gold and Mineral Claims for our Club Members to use anytime, and they Keep All The Gold They Find!!!
For over 40 years, our club has been helping individuals discover the thrill of small-scale Gold Mining. As a 501(c)(4) nonprofit social club, we attend Gold Panning Shows and Gem & Mineral Shows throughout the year to support our mission and share our passion with our community.
Gold prospecting in Oregon can be fun, rewarding, and educational — but it’s real work, not like what you see on Gold Rush on the Discovery Channel or YouTube. Because the State of Oregon has restricted small-scale dredging on most salmon-bearing rivers and streams to protect fish habitat, panning and sluicing are the main methods to get gold today. There’s still gold to be found, but success only comes from the knowledge of how to read the rivers to find gold which takes skill & patience you can learn by joining our club — your NOT going to strike it rich overnight!
Guests are warmly invited to join us on the second Tuesday of every month for our family-friendly Social Hour at 6 PM and club meeting at 7 PM! It’s the perfect opportunity to learn about gold mining, connect with fellow enthusiasts, and discover what makes our club so special.
